La telefon\u00eda celular, que constituye una herramienta muy \u00fatil en la comunicaci\u00f3n actual, resulta sin embargo un problema serio mientras se conduce.<br>La cantidad de accidentes causados por personas que hablan por tel\u00e9fono mientras conducen, est\u00e1 creciendo en todo el mundo. La atenci\u00f3n que demanda la comunicaci\u00f3n telef\u00f3nica, distrae al conductor y la tensi\u00f3n que puede provocar el contenido de la llamada perturba su tarea de conducir, con la consecuente producci\u00f3n de demoras o errores en las acciones. Y esto no se soluciona con un tel\u00e9fono \u201cmanos libres\u201d. La cuesti\u00f3n es tener la \u201cmente libre\u201d de cualquier otra preocupaci\u00f3n que no sea la conducci\u00f3n. Por ello, la ley de tr\u00e1nsito proh\u00edbe su uso durante la conducci\u00f3n.<br>Seg\u00fan diversos estudios, el uso del tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil es un factor que multiplica por cuatro el riesgo de sufrir accidentes. Mientras se habla por tel\u00e9fono, aunque sea manos libres, se pierde la capacidad de concentraci\u00f3n necesaria para conducir: no se mantiene una velocidad constante, la distancia de seguridad no es suficiente con el veh\u00edculo que circula delante y el tiempo de reacci\u00f3n aumenta considerablemente entre medio y dos segundos, dependiendo del conductor.<br>Datos que aportan otros informes apuntan a que \u201ctras minuto y medio de hablar por el m\u00f3vil (incluso manos libres) el conductor no percibe el 40% de las se\u00f1ales, su velocidad media baja un 12%, el ritmo cardiaco se acelera bruscamente durante la llamada y se tarda m\u00e1s en reaccionar\u201d.
